Jack Cassidy
(1927 - 1976)

Charismatic Jack Cassidy was the epitome of the Broadway leading man of the 1950s.

His most notable work on the Broadway musical stage was originating the roles of Chick Miller in Harold Rome's WISH YOU WERE HERE, Steven Kodaly in SHE LOVES ME, Max Menchen in IT'S A BIRD...IT'S A PLANE...IT'S SUPERMAN, Byron Prong in FADE IN, FADE OUT and the Clown in MAGGIE FLYNN (starring opposite his then-wife, Oscar-winning actress Shirley Jones).

He also had a very busy TV career, mostly in guest appearances on such TV classics as THAT GIRL, GET SMART, THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR, THE LUCY SHOW, I SPY and BEWITCHED.  He also played Jerry Cohan in the TV version of the musical GEORGE M! with Bernadette Peters and Joel Gray.

His musical theatre legacy lives on in his sons, David Cassidy (JOSEPH & THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT), Shaun Cassidy (BLOOD BROTHERS) and Patrick Cassidy (to be seen later this month as Frank Butler in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago opposite Patti Lupone & George Hearn).
